State Tennis Champions

Congratulations to the 2025 AA boys tennis state champions!

The 2025 Tennis State Championships were rained out at the Rome Tennis Center on May 10th but instead were hosted by the higher seed of the tournament (and by way of coin flip for like seeds) at their home venue on May 17th and 19th. The Pierce County boys team defeated Columbus.

Walker Sergent, STAR Student and Brandon Carlson, STAR Teacher

Congratulations to our shining STARS, Walker Sergent and Brandon Carlson!

Walker Sergent earned the 2025 STAR Student Award and was recognized at the March board of education meeting along with the STAR teacher that he selected, Brandon Carlson. The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program honors Georgia’s highest-achieving high school seniors and the teachers most instrumental in their academic development.

STAR Student Qualifications

  1. Enrolled in a public or private school.
  2. Take the SAT no later than November.
  3. Score the highest on one single test date on both parts. Score on each part must equal or exceed the national average.
  4. By the end of junior year, be in the top 10% or in the top ten numerically.

Pierce County school board and Superintendent Bennett

Congratulations to our school board for earning the GSBA 2024 Exemplary School Board Award!

The Pierce County Board of Education was recognized for their hard work and dedication to the Pierce County school system at the March board of education meeting.
